Location: Student Union 

Topic/skill: I started by asking introduction questions to get to know Salem better. He is from the United Arab Emirates. We discussed what he liked to do and his current hobbies. I also asked him why he was learning English and learned that he is going through a government program and his goal is to pass the IELTS exam. We also talked about what he wanted to focus on during our sessions which was vocabulary and speaking practice.

Feedback: I just had to correct some words while he was speaking but I can understand his message. Vocabulary will be important to focus on so that he can become a more confident speaker moving forward. I want to find ways to incorporate new vocabulary into our speaking practice as well as focus on some slang or more street English that will be practical to know moving forward.
