Topic/Skill: Mock conversations expressing opinions and giving advice

Feedback provided to the tutee: We found some fun conversation prompts about dating and giving relationship advice. After reading about a bickering couple's long-distance situation, Wei prescribed advice. We did have to work through the word proactive, specifically the "v" sound. Also with the word zoom, Wei struggled with the "z" sound, sounding more like a "d"/"c".

Lessons learned: She stayed very engaged and enjoyed talking much more when our mock conversations were about more entertaining/relevant topics, compared to run-of-the-mill rehearsed dialogues.

He told me about his visit to the Museum of Natural History, the Empire State Building, and Central Park. His hometown is known for its chaotic traffic, and New York’s heavy traffic also reminded him of home. When he told me he had taken the subway rather than a car to commute during his stay, I mentioned how cool that seems as I have never been on a subway. He was shocked!
