Topic/Skill: Ordering food/drinks

Feedback provided to tutee: Sultan and I went to a Starbucks and gave attention to how people ordered their food and drinks, paying attention to common polite sayings and the order the interaction tends to go in. I gave my insight as to what these different tones and phrases indicate. We then practiced this ourselves.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Its interesting to consider how rapidly our world is changing, and what impact this has on what is being taught today. Being able to order a drink for example has obvious value, but will it in 5 or 10 years, or will it all be automated? Definitely something to consider more broadly going forward as a teacher.
