Topic/Skill: Pedestrian communication

Feedback provided to tutee: Sultan and I discussed cultural differences when it comes to acknowledging (or not acknowledging) passersby's on the street. I gave him my impressions of it, as well as my doubts and desires for change. We practiced on unwitting students walking by, hopefully without their knowing (haha).

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Sultan has adapted quickly to his host culture, especially with something as common as walking by others. This can probably be expected across the board.

His hometown is known for its chaotic traffic, and New York’s heavy traffic also reminded him of home.
